Fresh Eyes

Fresh Eyes
by Luci Kegley | Lacey, WA
My soul, scrubbed clean by spending every day outdoors
My mind, relaxed from any concerns other than the present
My body, renewed by movement, loosened by lack of stress
And now, an opportunity to use fresh eyes
My new measure: What makes my heart lift?
What makes my heart sink?
I embrace the lift, filling life with more of these joys
I let go of the things that make me cringe. No more of that stuff.
Would, should, could are no longer in my lexicon
I am free to live life for my own joy
I choose to live life for my own joy
I am living life for my own joy
