Reno. Meet at the pedestrian bridge next to Wingfield Park at the intersection of West 1st Street
and Stevenson Street. There is a large metal artwork of a butterfly at this location. There is limited free parking on the south side next to Barbara Bennett Park. The north side of 1st Street also has some parking places, but they are metered.
We will walk west along the Truckee River on Riverside Drive to Idlewild Park and return to start point at the butterfly artwork. This is an easy social walk. If you aren’t familiar with the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, Spain, this walk can provide an introduction. If you have walked the Camino come and share the experience with others.

Truckee, CA: Lake Tahoe Chapter: Rifle Peak Hike

Meet at the intersection of CA 267 and Martis Peak Road (FireRoad 16N925), about 0.5 miles on
the Truckee side of the Brockway summit. We will park some cars here and carpool to the TRT trailhead
3.5 miles up Martis Peak Road. Heads up: Martis Peak Road is paved but has many deep potholes in the
first mile. The road runs generally east and climbs. At about the 3.5-mile point there is a sharp left turn that
headsto a CA Fire lookout tower. We will park here at the sharp turn in available spots. The TRT is accessed
here a short distance away.
We will start on the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) at elevation 8300 headed East toward the Mount Rose Wilderness. After about 1 mile of rolling hills, we will start climbing, reaching 9000 feet just before the 3-mile point. We will start on the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) headed East toward Brockway. The first 0.5 miles is uphill (elevation gain about 200 feet) with stunning views of Lake Tahoe to the West and the Carson valley to the South. Incline Village: Lake Tahoe Chapter, Incline Flume Hike

Incline Village - Meet at the Incline Flume trailhead on the NV SR 431 (Mt. Rose highway). Sufficient parking is available on the West side of SR 431 about 1500 feet before the last hairpin turn (Lake Tahoe Scenic Overlook) on the downslope into Incline Village.
We will enter the forest at the Incline Flume trailhead (elevation 7750) and follow the 7700-elevation contour for about 3.5 miles. At this point, we cross the Diamond Peak Ski Resort runs for a short while where the scenery opens up to lake views. We then enter the forest again on a gentle downslope until about mile 5.5, then a gradual descent…
