Zoom Times are PDT. The Via Podiensis, Le Puy en Velay – St. Jean Pied de Port. This Camino is a 355 km trek from Le Puy, a busy Pilgrim center, busier with both Pilgrims and French hikers, beautiful rural trail that connect a chain of UNESCO historic towns, through the Basque country to end in St. Jean Pied de Port. Come and join us as we continue our introduction to the French side of the Camino, starting from Le Puy en Velay to St. Jean Pied de Port. It is a kaleidoscope of nature, history, farm and city.

France, with hundreds of miles of nationally sponsored trails is a hiking country. A national trail system called the Grande Randonnée (GR) some 800 well-marked & maintained trails crisscrossing the country North to South and East to West. The Camino with its shell shaped markers follows along a GR trail guiding Pilgrims from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Eastern European countries to Santiago.
