Meet: 6:30PM at Blevins Trailhead in Usery Mountain Regional Park (3939 E Usery Pass Rd, Mesa). Directions: Enter the Usery Mountain Regional Park (3939 E Usery Pass Rd, Mesa) entrance and show your Maricopa County Park Pass or pay $7 fee. You can ask the ranger for a map & directions or continue straight on Usery Park Rd to Blevins Trail Rd for 1.5 miles. You will pass a restroom on the left side and then see a large unpaved parking lot beyond it. Park there! Call 602.722.0612 the day of if you need help or are running late.
The Pink Moon will rise at 7:13PM so we will begin our walk at dusk to gradually adjust to visibility. The leisurely hike will include the Blevins and Moon Rock (of course) Trails. First Water Trailhead - N First Water Trail, Apache Junction, AZ 85119. Directions: From Apache Junction take Hwy 88 ¼ mile past Lost Dutchman State Park. Turn right onto First Water road (this is a dirt road but does not require 4x drive). Follow appx 2 miles to the end of the road. Park in the big parking lot and meet at the Forest Service Kiosk.
The hike will depart from the First Water Trailhead, walking counter clockwise. We will start on the Dutchman Trail to the Black Mesa Trail and then return to the Trailhead on the Second Water Trail.
