We welcome you to explore our offerings in Central Indiana.
The Hoosier Chapter of American Pilgrims covers the state of Indiana but is centered on Indianapolis.
Broadly stated, the purpose of our local chapter is to keep veteran pilgrims connected to the Camino and to help those new to the idea of the Camino by answering their questions and helping them explore new possibilities.
Our group participants are always excited to share their Camino experiences and answer questions. We offer plenty of opportunities for Camino folk to gather to teach and learn. These events include coffee get-togethers, pitch-in/potluck dinners, hikes, Camino 101 training sessions, shell ceremonies and other events as our creative participant volunteers suggest and organize them. We also have a lending library of Camino-related books.
Contact chapter coordinators Jan Carlson, David Carlson, Harriet Ross and Karen Rushka via email for more information or to be added to the chapter email list.

Events
Ongoing and Scheduled Events
To see what we’re currently planning, please visit the American Pilgrims' Local Chapter Events Calendar and select our chapter name in the "All Events Category" pull-down menu. This will filter to display only our chapter's events.
Generally we have three ongoing events each month.
- On the first Monday morning of the month we have a hike,
- On the second Tuesday and fourth Thursday mornings of the month we meet for coffee and conversation, and
- We add special events in the evenings and weekends as often as we can.
Buen Camino! We look forward to meeting you.

You can contact us for more information about what we're planning and to be added to our mailing list for the photos, locations and times of each month's events.
Mentor Program
If you are thinking of walking the Camino and are interested in learning more, we can pair you with an experienced pilgrim who can answer your questions on how to prepare and what to expect. Just email us at Hoosier@americanpilgrims.org and ask to be connected with a mentor.
Become a Member
You don't need to be a member to participate in chapter activities. However, we'd love to have you! Our members aid our mission to support Camino infrastructure, gather pilgrims and provide information about the Camino. Becoming a member it's a great way to connect with your fellow pilgrims, qualify for Hospitalero training, contribute to our La Concha publication, and attend exclusive members-only events.
Keen to Learn More About the Camino?
Consider joining our Facebook group for great dialogue, Q&A, photos and a running commentary about the Camino from like-minded pilgrims.
We also have a ton of pilgrimage planning resources like; a packing list, planning 101, what to expect while there, route overviews, and suggested apps and guidebooks.
And when you are preparing to go, you can even order your pilgrim credential from us. It's free, but we would appreciate a donation.
And for some inspiration, check out our La Concha web magazine. It includes updates from American Pilgrims, notes from field volunteers, pilgrim stories, poetry, art and book/film reviews.
