Meet at the steps to the covered bridge, on the eastern side of the bridge. There are two parking lots, on either side of the bridge. The smaller lot is on the western side of the bridge, a larger lot is on the eastern side towards the campground. There are restrooms but we aren’t sure about water so please bring water with you.
We will be hiking the Hog Hollow Trail to the fire tower. It will be a total of 4.8 miles (out and back).
This hike is on trails with roots and rocks and hills. It is a good chance to practice with your trekking poles. Please wear shoes with good traction. Long pants are also recommended. It could be muddy, depending on the recent weather.
Lee, a member living in nearby Mansfield, has graciously invited us to a cookout at his house following the hike. It is about a 30 min drive from our meeting spot.
RSVP required for this event (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdhvvUxO5a60_xkGmdIRB88_EvC3Vj_ozBnb702rulirrkDaA/viewform?usp=dialog). You will have the option to note if you are joining for the cookout and/or the hike. When you register, you will get additional information.
