Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge: Drive to the headquarters parking area and trailhead. Look for the American Pilgrims sign in the parking lot before we depart.
5.2 mile walk on the Bluebird Trail (150ft elevation gain). The trail passes Kepple Lake and wanders through forest areas, as well as part of the trail on the auto route. This is a 7 1/2 mile (round trip) walk. We reach an elevation of about 700 feet. We make a brief stop at the top to rest and snack, before heading back. Bring a sufficient amount of water to stay hydrated, and a snack for energy.
