You have walked one of the Camino paths, and now you are wondering, “What other pilgrimages are out there?” Well, what about a pilgrimage in Japan? There is the Kumano Kodo….and the most common path is the Nakahechi route, that is 75 km in length. And then there is the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, that is 1200 km in length. On the Shikoku 88 Temple pilgrimage one visits and worships at 88 Temples that are located all around the island of Shikoku, the smallest of Japan’s 4 main islands. The temples are associated with Shingon Buddhist monk, Kobo Daishi. If you are intrigued or have heard about the pilgrimage, come and attend our Zoom talk! Chris Petty will talk about the pilgrimage and Lawrence Iles will share his thoughts and reflections on walking all 1200 km of the pilgrimage in 2018, which make up his new book: Impermanence, as well has some of his amazing photos. Lawrence Iles is a writer and freelance sports photographer based in Madison, Wisconsin. You can find more about Lawrence and how to order his book at: https://lawrenceiles.com/
