Hudson River Walk in Rockefeller State Park Preserve on Sunday, May 15! Visit the Rockwood Hall section of Rockefeller with us.
Join us for a hike in Rockefeller State Park Preserve in Westchester County, NY. We will hike in the Rockwood Hall section of the park that borders the Hudson River. We will cover approximately 5.5 to 6 miles over about 2.5 to 3 hours. Train riders from NYC will meet at Grand Central Terminal at 10:10 sharp at the clock/info booth at the center of the main hall. Please be sure to buy a round trip ticket (or at least a one way) to Scarborough on the Hudson Line of Metro North. We will take the 10:20 train from Grand Central Terminal to Scarborough station and arrive one hour after departing GCT. This train runs local, so it’s possible to catch it at several stops along the way. The hike will be on dirt paths and paved walkways, as well as some road walking. Bring snacks and water. There are no bathrooms for the first 2 hours so please use facilities at GCT or on the train.
There will be an optional late lunch on the waterfront at an outdoor restaurant where the hike ends at the Tarrytown station. Trains depart Tarrytown for GCT twice hourly on Sundays. Drivers may park at either Tarrytown or Scarborough stations. If parking in Tarrytown, allow enough time to meet the group at Scarborough station at 11:20. If parking in Scarborough, you can return to your car via train (2 stops) or other means of your choice.
