Meet us at the Morrison-Talbott Library in Waterloo, IL, where our St. Louis Chapter’s very own Mary Baldree will share a brief talk on her exhibition of photos from her 2023 walk on the Camino Francés. (The exhibition will be on display at the library throughout the month of June.)

Following the exhibition talk and viewing, Mary will lead us on a meandering walk through a residential area and past Illinois farmland to a trail that will lead us to Lakeview Park (restroom facilities available there).

From the park, we will continue our walk to Schorr Lake Vineyards, where we will gather around a few picnic tables to continue our Camino chatting and merriment. Schorr Lake Vineyards offers wine, beer, soft drinks, and light snacks for purchase. You may also pack in your own food (no outside beverages). When we are ready to head back, we’ll walk a more direct route to the library to retrieve our vehicles.

Our walking route is approximately 5.5-6 miles roundtrip. Total walking time is estimated at 2.5-3 hours depending on size/speed of our group. This estimate is walking time only and does not include our time for the library photo exhibit talk and our winery interlude. (For your planning, the return walk from winery to library will take approximately 35-45 minutes.)
