Join us at 4:30 PM for a late-afternoon walk along Richardson’s Bay to Tiburon, then a picnic diner while watching the sunset, followed by a moonlight walk around Belvedere Island in the dark with wonderful views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate.

Bring a light meal that’s easy to carry for your picnic (sandwich, sushi, etc.) and a beverage. You might also bring a desert or snack to share. Leaving a bottle of water in the car for the return trip home is recommended.

Total mileage is 9 miles with a picnic stop in the middle. Wear comfortable shoes (we’ll be walking on pavement), and bring a wind breaker. Bring a flashlight if you wish, but for most of the route it’s not needed, and using one makes it harder to see the stars.

IMPORTANT: This is a night hike and people can lose their way in the dark. Participants are expected to stay with the group on the return part of the hike (unless you sign out). Keep in mind that the group can only walk as fast as the slowest person.

RSVP required.

Bring: your meal, beverage, water for post-hike, and a light jacket.

Meet: in front of restrooms near Blackie’s Pasture parking lot near Tiburon in Marin at 4:30 pm.

Return: to cars around 9:30 PM.

Directions: Take Tiburon exit from Hwy 101 in Mill Valley. Drive east 1.8 miles; turn right onto Blackie’s Pasture Rd; park in (free) parking lot. Then walk 100 meters eastward along paved path next to the bay toward Tiburon to the restroom complex.

If you are running late arriving at Blackie’s Pasture – call Dick’s cell at 510-705-2447.
