The MN Chapter of American Pilgrims will join the Solanus Friary in St. Paul and St. Michael’s Church in Stillwater to create the most realistic pilgrimage experience one can have outside of Galicia, Spain. The main event is a 19 mile (yes, you read that correctly) walk (or bike) that begins at the friary and ends at St. Michael’s Church. The walk is primarily on park pathways. It will feature several rest stations offering snacks and water, but pilgrims will be encouraged to pack a lunch. The day will begin with a breakfast and blessing at the friary and end with food, celebration and mass (will the Botafumeiro swing?!) at St. Michael’s Church. It is possible to walk an abbreviated version (you will need to make your own arrangements for transportation to your starting or ending point). If you can’t walk, but would still like to participate, we will need volunteers to man one of the rest stops. If you can’t make it to Spain this year but need an incentive to train, this is it! Grab your scallop shell and join us!
