Our hike leaders and are self-proclaimed ‘Camino addicts’ having walked six pilgrimages in Spain, France, and Portugal. They named this walk “The Camino de Bakeries.” The walk will begin and end at the Great Harvest Bakery on 29th and Southeast Boulevard (2530 E 29th Ave, Spokane). We will start promptly at 9:00 from the Great Harvest, but consider meeting at 8:30 for a short coffee/tea and treat to start the day. The bakery is in a strip mall and there is plenty of room to park for free.

The walk will have bathroom and/or nourishment breaks at the Rockwood Bakery on 17th Ave. and the Rocket Bakery on 14th Ave. We will walk through the Rockwood, Manito, and Cannon neighborhoods. The walk is 7 miles. If you want to walk only half and stop at the Rocket Bakery, there is a city bus that will take you back to Great Harvest. The way is flat and paved. Running shoes or the like will be adequate for this walk but feel welcome to wear any Camino gear for testing. Bring poles if you wish, as well as water, snacks, and layered clothing according to the weather conditions.

Our leaders will answer questions and give mostly good advice about walking a real Camino!!
