The NYC Chapter of the American Pilgrims on the Camino will continue walking in Rockland County this October. Join your fellow pilgrims for an 8.5-mile hike (round trip) starting from South Nyack, NY towards the village of Piermont, NY via the Raymond Esposito Trail. Points of interest during this hike include:

– Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
– Piermont Railroad Train Station
– Piermont Pier
Meeting Spot: Tarrytown Train Station (WC stop)
Meeting Time: 9:45 am

How to get there: Hudson line of Metro-North to Tarrytown
o One-way off-peak fare is $ 11.25
o Depart: 8:50 am from Grand Central Terminal or use intermediary stations
o Arrive Tarrytown at 9:29 am

Together as a group we will walk to the HudsonLink bus stop located in front of the Tarrytown train station and travel to South Nyack ($2.75 fare via the H07 line or free weekend shuttle). The first stop after the bridge crossing will bring us to the starting point of our hike – the Tappan Zee sculpture. It is located at the entrance of the Esposito hiking trail between Clinton Ave. and S. Franklin St. This will also be the meeting spot for those who wish to drive, park and join the group in South Nyack at 10:10 am.

Lunch spot: Basque Tapas Bar and Restaurant (WC stop)

Please bring day hike essentials: water, juice, Gatorade, snacks, insect repellent, rain gear, sun hat/sunblock, walking stick, comfortable walking shoes and cash.
Please exercise caution during this Caminito. Always stay hydrated and walk only on the designated path or trail with awareness that it’s a shared bike/pedestrian path.
