Lost Dog Trail is a 4.2 mile out and back trail located in the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve. The halfway point is the Taliesin Overlook, with a view of Taliesin West, the one-time winter home of Frank Lloyd Wright and current headquarters of the FLW Foundation.

The trail is rated as moderate with an elevation gain of 410 feet and some uneven terrain.

Conversational pace. We will gather at sign posts and resume as a group.

Bring: sturdy walking shoes, water, a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses and a snack if desired. Walking sticks are not required on this hike, but could be useful. There is no shade on this trail, except at the Trail Head.

Meet: Lost Dog Trailhead at 6:45 am (at the Ramada). Since it may be hot, we will begin promptly at 7:00 am, and the hike should take approximately 2-2.5 hours.

There are restrooms at the trailhead, drinking water, and a covered meeting area.

Stay home if you are sick or not feeling well, and no dogs due to chapter liability.

All our hikes and activities are planned & led by volunteers and donations are appreciated to support the chapter. If you are a member of the American Pilgrims on the Camino and interested in leading a hike or walk, please contact us at phoenix@americanpilgrims.org.
