This beautiful 5.6 mile moderately challenging hike leaves from the Gateway Trailhead and gradually climbs 1100 ft in elevation to a stunning view of the Valley. It is a rocky but well worn path in the beautiful McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The steady climb is great training (similar to the climb to Alto de Perdon on the Camino Frances) and the last 1/2 mile is an extra challenge.
