Description: A little bit of business; a whole lotta good time! As ever, this will be a potluck, so bring your favorite dish, savory or sweet, and beverage to share with others. Wine is welcome! (In case you were wondering.)
In addition to the traditional meeting, with Shell ceremony and announcements, Steve and Isabel have invited us to stay for a fireside chat. Here’s what they envision:
Camino stories, thoughts, experiences – time for a fireside open chat.
The Camino can be a profound experience for many pilgrims. Often we return with new feelings, emotions, changes and insights. Memories may well up tears of joy or sorrow, sometimes unexpectedly. Friends and family members may not understand or tire of hearing about our Camino experience. The chance to share with other Camino Pilgrims provides us an opportunity reflective of the Camino experience itself. Discussions and experiences with pilgrims when we are walking the Camino are sometimes profound, insightful, moving, or simply memorable for joyful or difficult reasons.
This fireside chat is meant to provide time and space to share thoughts and experiences that fellow pilgrims can relate to and to get to know better fellow pilgrims in our midst. Here are some topics for possible discussion or sharing or to perhaps “break the ice.” The idea, however, is to simply provide some time and space with fellow pilgrims to discuss and share what may be on your mind as you prepare for your Camino or live the Camino back home.
Sharing stories that impacted your Camino spiritual/internal journey
“Camino Angel” experiences
Practical guidance for those preparing- packs, weight, shoes, socks, foot care, finding albuergue space, costs, etc.
Pre Camino conditioning
Post Camino blues
Why I walked the Camino
Arrival to Santiago feelings
Thoughts on the new film “The Way, My Way.”
To journey without being changed is to be a nomad. To change without journeying is to be a chameleon. To journey and be transformed by the journey is to be a pilgrim.
