San Marcos, CA: San Diego Chapter Double Peak Hike

Join Karin Kiser and fellow San Diego pilgrims on a 5-mile walk from Double Peak Park in San Marcos. We’ll enjoy panoramic views during this moderate hike, followed by an informal Camino Q&A in the amphitheater area.

Here are the details:
Parking: There is plenty of free parking at the top of the hill in the overlook area. We will start and end the hike in the outdoor amphitheater, which is to the right of the restrooms and the trail map.

Meeting time in the amphitheater area: 7:45 AM
Walk begins: 8:00 AM

Restrooms: Public restrooms are available in the parking area.

The trail: We will take the path down the hill to the trail entrance. This route is primarily paved, which allows us to space out as we wish. There are a few hills, but at a leisurely pace they should be no problem. There is not much shade, so a hat and sun protection are recommended.

Bring: Sun protection, water, as well as snacks to enjoy after the walk.

Post-walk Camino Q&A: At the end of the walk, we will meet in the amphitheater area to enjoy our snacks and the view during an informal Camino Q&A. Get your questions answered, swap stories and see some of the gear and resources others have used on the Camino.
