Raleigh, NC: Raleigh Chapter, Hike – “The Umstead Camino”

Join the Raleigh Chapter Saturday, July 24 for this hike. The “Umstead Camino” follows the Sycamore and Company Mill Trails in Umstead State Park. Hikers will have three options:
1. a short-ish (5 mile) but beautiful loop on part of the Sycamore Trail,
2. the short Sycamore loop plus a loop on the Company Mill Trail (total distance about 10 miles), or
3. the Sycamore and Company Mill loops plus another three miles out and back on the Sycamore Trail (total 13 miles).

The park doesn’t open until 8:00 AM. Use the Crabtree Entrance off US 70/Glenwood Avenue, NOT the entrance off I 40 and Harrison Av. in Cary. After you pass the Visitor Center turn left on the road marked “Sycamore Cabins” (do NOT go straight following signs for Sycamore Trail Head). We’ll meet in the parking lot for Sycamore Cabins no later than 8:15 AM so we can start walking by 8:30.
