Pleasantville, NY: NYC Chapter, Rockefeller State Park Preserve Caminito

The NYC Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino announces our upcoming walk in Rockefeller State Park Preserve on Saturday, May 13th (rain date May 14th). Brigitte will lead this walk. She lives in Westchester and often frequents the park. She has a vast knowledge of the various areas in RSPP.

For those coming from New York City by train, we will meet at Grand Central Station at the clock/info booth starting at 9:30 and will take the 9:50 Metro-North train to Tarrytown. We arrive at 10:30 and will carpool to Rockefeller. As in the past we will ask willing drivers to meet us at the Tarrytown station, or we will call taxis or Ubers. Drivers can meet the group at the Visitors Center adjacent to the main entrance and parking lot at 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, NY. Depending on transport to the park we should start our walk from the Visitors Center around 11:15 – 11:30. Plan for a 6ish mile walk on easy to moderate terrain, mostly along dirt paths. There are beautiful visas this time of year. Bring day hike essentials, plus water, snacks and lunch since nothing is available in the park. There are bathrooms by the Visitors Center. There will be an option to end the Caminito with a walk back to the train station. Otherwise we will order taxis to Tarrytown station. There are a number of restaurants on and around Main Street in Tarrytown. Returning trains to NYC/Grand Central leave Tarrytown twice per hour. Please RSVP by May 10, if possible.
