Plainfield, IL: Chicago Chapter, March Hike

Our monthly hike is set for Saturday, March 8th at the Lake Renwick Trail & Bike Way Loop in Plainfield, Will County, IL.

The area is a protected Illinois Land and Water Reserve with beautiful views. We have a unique chance to see bald eagles, white pelicans and other water fowl. Access to Heron Rookery Nature Preserve is currently limited to protect migratory birds.

We will meet at 9:45AM for introductions at the Turtle Lake Access/parking located at 23113 Lockport Street, Plainfield, IL 60544.

The hike starts at 10:00AM.

The “N” shaped trail winds though a forest and a prairie, is paved and level throughout. The lakeside trail distance loop is 1.35 miles, which is extendable to 5.35 miles, following the eastern bike way loop.
