This is the 3rd of four long hikes and provides a mix of terrain and a little bit of elevation to simulate a typical easy day on the Camino. We will begin walking from Walmart on 24th Street to the Highline Canal, along Baseline Rd with an optional coffee stop at Human Bean. We will then proceed to the Javelina Trailhead and walk to the Pima Canyon Trailhead via Beverly Canyon. There is a bathroom about 5 mile in and we will cross it twice to refill aqua or use servicio. We will continue along the Pima Canyon Road to the end of the fire road and then retrace our steps with an option to stop for servicio, aqua and/or cafe con leche at the same points. There are a few rocky sections on Beverly but the rest of the walk is urban canal and wide gravel fire road with gentle elevation gains.
Bring poles, hat, plenty of water (at least 2 Liters recommended), sunscreen, money for cafe con leche at the Human Bean and a snack. If you would like a map, email email@example.com.
Please stay home if you are feeling sick. No dogs due to chapter liability.
All hikes are lead by volunteers and donations are appreciated to support chapter activities (shell ceremonies, marketing, etc.)
