Phoenix, AZ: Valley of the Sun Chapter, South Mountain Urban and Mountain Walk

This is the last of 3 long hikes and provides a mix of terrain and a little bit of elevation to simulate a typical easy day on the Camino. We will begin walking from Walmart on 24th Street to the Highline Canal, along Baseline Rd with an optional coffee stop at Human Bean. We will then proceed to the Javelina Trailhead and walk to the Pima Canyon Trailhead via Beverly.

This is about 5 mile in and the only option for a bathroom stop & to top off water. We will continue along the Pima Canyon Road to Javelina Trail and then back to the Highline Canal and Walmart.

Bring poles, hat, plenty of water (at least 2 Liters recommended), sunscreen and a snack.
