Phoenix, AZ: Valley of the Sun Chapter, South Mountain Hike

6 miles mix of Easy & Difficult

This is a great training hike because, like on the Camino, there is a hill to climb between sections of fairly flat terrain.

We will meet at the Pima Canyon Trailhead (water and bathrooms available). From this trailhead we will walk the fire road (1.3 mi) and connect to National Trail where we will climb to Mormon Trail and return to the fire road. We may take the Pima Wash Trail back to the parking lot which passes some petroglyphs and is more scenic than the fire road.

If you aren’t prepared for the climb – you can turn around at the end of the fire road or join us for the more challenging walk on October 18.
