Hike: San Tan-Moonlight Loop – 5.5 miles easy to moderate (very short segments) 75 foot elevation change.
Hike leaders: Will & Melissa Carpenter

The hike is a clockwise loop that begins on San Tan Trail walking toward beautiful vistas and then turning on the scenic and rather mild Moonlight Trail near the Visitor Center. Much of the trail is wide and relatively smooth and suitable for great conversations about the Camino. The walk would be reminiscent of the profile of a day from Sarria to Santiago in regards to elevation.

The trails within the San Tan Mountain Regional Park offer a unique perspective of the lower Sonoran Desert with wonderful wildlife, plant-life and scenic mountain views. While this trail is relatively flat, the area offers many connected trails of different elevations making it a great training spot for nearby pilgrims and worth the drive for those wanting to see another part of the Valley.

There will be coffee and tortilla espanola (made by your hike leaders) for those who indicate they are staying after the hike for more conversation. Please indicate when you register if you are staying for coffee (so that I make enough without wasting any).
