Phoenix, AZ: Valley of the Sun Chapter, North Overbank Trail Hike

Easy social walk on asphalt trail along the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area. Total distance: 7.4 miles out and back

Trail is located north side of the Rio Salado Riverbed. It provides opportunities for bird watching and enjoying the beautiful riparian scenery. This asphalt trail is perfect for walking. The trail also offers excellent views of the Low Flow Channel, South Mountain and downtown Phoenix, along with the sights and sound of wildlife inhabitants. It is an out and back trail so walkers who don’t feel ready for 7.4 miles can begin with the group and turn around when desired. This area is a hidden gem so close to downtown but with a completely different feel. This is a nice easy walk to lead into the the Are You Ready Series (4 walks of 10+ Miles) later in March.
