Ocean View, DE: DelMarVa Chapter, Ocean View Urban Hike

Hike 4.5 miles in Ocean View, Delaware, This will be a combination urban and trail hike. We will start at John West Park in Ocean View, Delaware and explore the historic village. Learn how Ocean View, Delaware became the birthplace of the commercial broiler industry. We will also hike on the Assawoman Canal Trail and the trail at the Bethany Beach Nature Center. Near the end of our walk, we will slow things down with a walk on a labyrinth.

The walk will be on pavement and a fine dust gravel trail. There is a combination of shade and sun. We will be venturing near some wetlands so you may want to bring bug and sun protection.

Meet at the gazebo at John West Park at 32 West Ave, Ocean View, DE 19970 at 8:45am. We will start the walk at 9:00am. Hopefully an early start will help us avoid summer beach traffic. Free parking is available at John West Park & Community Center across from the Park.
