Join us for a 3.5 mile hike on the Prickly Pear trail in Fresh Pond.
Fresh Pond is located near Bethany Beach, Delaware and offers shaded trails and beautiful views of the Indian River Bay. The prickly pear cactus along the trail should be blooming with bright yellow flowers at the time we are there.
We will meet in the Fresh Pond Trail Head Parking lot which is located on Hickman Road; Ocean View, Delaware. Please check your gps directions to make sure you are entering Fresh Pond off of Hickman Road. Here is a google map link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9mrvCKTp7TAucUtb7. This is a state park and it is currently fee season. If you don’t have a DE State Parks pass, you will have to pay to park.
There is a porta-pot at the trail head. We will be walking on a pine needle covered trail as well as sandy, grassy areas. It can be buggy in this park so please prepare with bug spray/long pants/sleeves, etc.
