Our Caminito will begin at Riverbank State Park, heading north for 5.3 miles along the scenic Hudson River and traverse Fort Tyron Park, The Cloisters, and Inwood Hill Park. Our way will descend into the Inwood neighborhood and conclude at Galicia Tapas Restaurant to celebrate the Apostle with sangria and tapas.
Date: Sunday, July 23
Time: 8:45 am
Meeting point: OUTSIDE McDonald’s on the NW corner of 145th street & Broadway.
How to get there: take the 1 train and exit at 145th Street station. Check for MTA weekend service changes that might affect schedules.
End point: Galicia Tapas, 575 West 207th Street, New York 10034. Galicia Tapas opens at noon.
July is a very hot month in NYC; please take all necessary precautions to avoid sunburn, heatstroke, or dehydration. Please pack water, snacks, and sun protection as befits your needs.
To avoid the extreme heat of midday, we will not be making formal stops along the route. However, public restrooms will be available in the parks along the route. For safety reasons, please walk with a buddy at all times.
Leaders: Jojo and Nery are passionate about sharing the Spirit of the Camino with fellow pilgrims while encouraging future pilgrims in their physical and spiritual journey on the Camino. We hope you can join us to celebrate the Feast of St. James and the Spirit of the Camino.
