This is a practice camino with those seeking instruction on “how to walk as well as use poles” asked to arrive at 0830. The actual hike starts at 0900. Park in the large lot next to the Suffragette Memorial. Bring a picnic lunch if you wish to do the entire hike. After the hike, there will be full gear demonstration with questions and answers. For those who have never hiked a camino, please bring a full pack or a weighted pack to resemble the load you expect to carry. As we walk, we will check your pack, especially the straps.
The hike resembles the Camino Frances. The first part of the camino is a long uphill. Once we reach the top, we will enter meadows and forests. There are bail out points that will make the length of the hike either 3 miles, 5 miles or 8 miles.
