Locke, NY: Finger Lakes Chapter, Fillmore Glen Hike and Brewery

Come enjoy a late-summer hike in beautiful Fillmore Glen!

Fillmore Glen State Park, located in Moravia, is a 941-acre site with a dramatic gorge, multiple waterfalls, picturesque woods, and a dam. We will hike for about three hours along the Gorge and Rim trails, taking in as many waterfalls as we can along the way. We’ll find a picnic spot for lunch.

Afterwards, if there’s interest, we’ll stop at Summerhill Brewing in nearby Locke.

Where: We’ll meet in the main parking area by the large pavilion. Please note that the parking charge of $8 per car will be in effect. It’s possible to park at the nearby elementary school and walk into the park; please allow extra time if you choose to do this.

When: Sunday, September 19th. 10:00 a.m. We will begin our hike promptly at 10:15.

What to bring: water, insect repellent, hiking poles, sturdy shoes, lunch or a snack. If you plan to join us at Summerhill Brewing, be aware that their current policy is to require a mask if you’re unvaccinated.

As of 9/13, the forecast for Sunday is sunny with highs around 80. If the forecast changes, we’ll hike in light rain. If there’s a severe storm, the hike will be postponed until a later date.
