Huntersville, NC: Charlotte Chapter, Latta Nature Preserve Hike

Plan to arrive at 10:00am for a 10:15am step-off time. We’ll start at the Nature Center (parking and restrooms available), and walk portions of the Hill, Cove and Split Rock trails. There are good descriptions of our hike on the trail map. Our route should cover 5-6 miles, although one could turn back at multiple points for a shorter walk.

There is a shelter at the Visitors Center for those wishing to bring a post-hike snack. You may also enjoy visiting the nearby Carolina Raptor Center. There should be plenty of time between the hike and the afternoon program starting at 1:30pm. Raptor Center reservations should be made on your own.
