Genoa, NV: Lake Tahoe Chapter, Genoa Loop Hike

Distance 8.5 miles. 1,500 feet of elevation gain. Moderate ++. We will walk 3 blocks from the Mormon Station to the Genoa Loop trailhead at the end of Carson street. The first two miles are a strenuous 1,100 foot climb. Once at the top, the trail is relatively flat. Views of the Carson Valley are wonderful. A few fairly easy creek crossings. We can take a break for snack at a nice waterfall that has a fairly robust flow after this past winter. We will descend down the Sierra Canyon Trail back to town passing the old cemetery.

Where: Mormon Station State Historic Park – Genoa (Actual trailhead is at the end of Carson Street.) Park on the street by the Mormon Station at 10 AM
