City of Ventura, CA: Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles Chapters, A hike from Ventura Marina to the Pier

This 9.0-mile hike is considered moderate because of the long distance. The route skirts around the colorful Ventura Marina passing the largest working shipyard between LA and SF. We continue heading northwest as we walk by the Ventura Keys residential area, then onto Pierpont Blvd, passing the “Lanes” with their beach access until we reach San Buenaventura State Beach at the 3.3-mile point. Another 1.3 miles takes us up to the Ventura Pier, our midway shell ceremony (if planned) and break point where we can watch surfers riding the waves. After the break, we return to the Marina.
