Charlotte, NC: Charlotte Chapter, Whitewater Center Hike

The Whitewater Center features over 40 miles of multi-use trails. While we won’t cover them all on our hike, you’ll get a flavor of what the Center has to offer. Our main route will cover about 6 miles, with views of the Catawba River, the kayak launch area, the ropes courses and namesake whitewater training pools. For those with limited time, there will be a cut-off point for a 3-mile hike.

Following the hike, you are invited to stay for lunch at the River’s Edge dining area. While they don’t take group reservations and we may not all be seated together, we should finish our hike earlier enough that we beat the crowd. There are other dining areas, so please feel free to enjoy any of the options. Also, while you are there, check out the Outfitters Store.

There is no charge for using the hiking trails at Whitewater Center, but there is a $12/car parking fee. Check with your fellow hikers about carpooling options.
