Dawson Butte, located between Castle Rock and Larkspur, is a peaceful and inspiring area to visit, with an open, flowy, curvy trail that follows the natural contours of the land and takes us through forested areas and meadows.
This lovely little hike of about 5 miles is located about half-way between Castle Rock and Larkspur on the west side of I-25. The trail follows gently rolling terrain through mostly forested areas with open meadows and views of the Colorado Front Range with an elevation gain (and loss) of around 400’. After the hike, there will be an optional lunch at Rockyard Brewing Company in Castle Rock for those who would like to continue the Camino conversation.
