John Saxon will be leading the Raleigh Chapter on this 7.2 mile (out and back) hike on Cary’s White Oak Creek Greenway.

We’ll meet in the parking lot for the American Tobacco Trail trailhead on Wimberly Road (966 Wimberly Road, Apex, NC 27523) at 8:30 and start walking at 8:45. No bathrooms there!

This will be the first time we’ve walked this route. It should be relatively easy. It’s flat. Combination of dirt, asphalt, and long stretch of boardwalk across wetlands. We’ll head east following the greenway (pedestrian underpasses at Green Level Church Rd., I-540, and NC 55), crossing Jencks Carpenter Rd. (pedestrian crossing with lights) to White Oak Park (with bathrooms!!!) and then turn around and head back.
