Camino packing 101
Reserve your spot at REI events Bloomington, Minnesota
Limit TWO for each session
Join Kathy Jo, a Camino veteran with multiple trip experiences, for a 45-minute session to learn about packing techniques, gear and clothing appropriate for the Camino. Kathy Jo's first Camino was in 2011 and she had packed a month's worth of stuff: toothpaste, shampoo, soap, four pairs of pants, five shirts, a heavy rain jacket and rain pants, heavy hiking boots and a HUGE backpack. Within the first week of her six-week Camino pilgrimage, two boxes of gear were shed and sent to Santiago to lighten the load! Kathy Jo will share a few funny encounters around her first packing experience and lessons that she has learned about outfitting for the Camino. Topics reviewed will include backpacks, footwear, clothing, toiletries, etc. Attendees will get a list of what Kathy Jo recommends, and are encouraged to bring their own packing lists (or packed bags!) to review what is needed for a trip along the multiple routes of the Camino. This event will meet at the Adventure Station.
