David Larwa, a modern-day pilgrim, has walked
over 8,000 kilometers in Spain, Portugal, and
France over the last several years. During this
presentation, David will share why the Camino
de Santiago (Way of Saint James) was one of
the most important pilgrimages during the
Middle Ages and about the rise of its current
popularity. He will include Spanish history and
personal insights gained while traveling at three
miles an hour. He will share maps, books, and
backpacking gear used for walking the Camino
de Santiago. Sponsored by the Friends of the
Berkley Public Library.
