Event details: University of Missouri-St. Louis Spanish and French faculty invite the local community to “El Camino | Le Chemin: The Art of Walking”.
The evening will include two panel discussions. Using the Camino de Santiago/Le Chemin de St. Jacques as a point of departure, faculty members on the first panel will reflect on how their research is related to walking and the significance of walking in relation to forms of cultural expression. The second panel, including American Pilgrims on the Camino St. Louis Chapter co-coordinator Amy Horton and UMSL School of Social Work professor and fellow STL pilgrim Joe Pickard, will share their experiences of walking and pilgrimage, reflecting on the question: “What does pilgrimage mean in your experience?”
