Seven Oaks Trail / Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

Join us on Saturday, August 20th as we hike the Seven Oaks Trail, starting from the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens parking lot. Plan to arrive at 09:30am and we will step off at 09:45am. Restroom facilities are available inside the DSBG Visitors Center.

We will start out on the Persimmon Trail, picking up the Boulevard Trail within the first quarter mile. This will take us to the Seven Oaks Trail (part of the Carolina Thread Trail system), where we will walk to a water break at the trailhead off of New Hope Road. We’ll retrace our steps on the trail. For those who want a shorter walk, they can return to the parking area as we pass by the Boulevard Trail. The rest will head to the end of Seven Oaks for a quick look at the new extension being built at the north end. We will then return to the parking area via Worrell’s Walk. The total walk will be around 5.4 miles, and should take 2 ½- 3 hours, depending on breaks.

The trail is an all-natural surface, with a few short hills and a number of lakeview areas. Hiking poles are not necessary, but will be helpful in certain spots.

If you are coming in from the south (Pole Branch Rd), just as you cross into NC, you will pass the new Drift on Lake Wylie restaurant. Keep this one in mind for a future fine dining experience.

Arrival Time 09:30am
Hike starts at 09:45am in the Visitor Center parking lot.

Restroom facilities are available at the parking area inside the Visitor Center.
