Our Annual New Years Hike is always a great way to welcome in the New Year! As we have done in past years, we will work our way to the Cherry Creek Reservoir and offer a blessing for 2026. Leave behind any concerns or trouble from 2025 by throwing a stone into Cherry Creek as it flows into the reservoir.

The walk will be 5 – 6 miles along pretty flat terrain. We’ll cross our fingers that the weather cooperates so be sure to register for the hike in case we need to make adjustments.

Be prepared for cold-weather hiking with adequate water, a warm drink and a snack, and dress appropriately with a hat, gloves, muffler, layers, and boots/shoes for snowy paths. Consider bringing micro-spikes/Yaktrax for possible icy spots along the trail, and if you use poles, bring them for extra stability. After the hike, we will head to the Hound Sports Pub for food and drink and Camino talk and sharing our plans for 2026.

If you are a new pilgrim leaving on Camino in 2026, be sure to request a “mini-shell” ceremony on the sign-up form! (We ask for a Donativo for your shell, to help defray our costs. Thank you for your generosity.)
