Albuquerque, NM: Albuquerque Chapter, North Valley Hike

The walking route is approximately 4.6 miles in length. This walk features gravel and dirt pathways through wildlife habitats, an active farming area, city streets, Los Ranchos Growers and Art Market, and Hartnett Park.

We will go through Los Poblanos Fields along the irrigation ditches, and turn north along Nabor Rd. We will walk along Chavez Rd. past the Casa Rondeña Winery, up Guadalupe Trail, and west on Green Valley Road. These are beautiful neighborhoods to walk in. 

Meet at 9:00 AM at Los Poblanos Open Space on Montaño Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 Carpool to Los Poblanos if you like. Typically there is adequate parking available in a large parking area.

No need for hiking poles. Elevation gain is 94 feet. Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water, snacks if desired, a hat, and sunscreen.

Approximate time allowed for the walk depends on how fast or leisurely everyone is walking. Allow a minimum of 1.75 hours. There is a Porta Potty in the parking lot, one in the community garden, and a restroom at the Growers Market.
