We’ll meet at the Albertson’s in Santa Fe off of St. Francis Drive. Meet at the north end of the parking lot. We’ll leave the parking lot at 9:30. From there the drive is about a half hour to Pecos National Park.

We’ll do our best to accommodate carpooling, depending on numbers.
We’ll do the 2 mile loop twice (reversing direction after the first loop, for a total of 4 miles). There are moderate, short elevation gains and descents on a good trail with footbridges over creek beds. This is a forested area so no sun issues and can actually be a bit cool in temperature. Hiking poles are not super necessary, but can help with some of the uphill segments. There are a number of historic markers describing the Civil War battle that occurred there.
As always, bring a hat, plenty of water, a snack if you like and wear appropriate shoes and clothing.
Sorry, but dogs are not allowed on hikes per National protocol. Thanks for your understanding.
