Please join us on Saturday July 16 and July 23 for walks in the bosque. We are looking forward to this opportunity to connect with others who have walked the Camino and those who are planning for their first Camino as well. Bringing your pack is great practice and gives you a chance to test your gear and troubleshoot. We will be carrying our toddler in a backpack and welcome conversation regarding hiking as a family from those who have experienced it!

We’ll walk in two new locations these next two Saturdays:

July 16: Start at Tingley Drive Southern Bosque Trailhead https://goo.gl/maps/wdfV7QRPj7WaQMbR7 at 7 AM on the 16th. We will walk north and back south for a total of six miles.

July 23: https://goo.gl/maps/z421gUJjC3XfisJw9 at 7am. This is the parking lot just north of I-40 in Los Duranes. We will walk south from this location for a total of 6 miles.

Both walks will be six miles total, almost entirely flat on dirt trails with some sandy portions; it’s an easy hike. There is shade for the majority of the route but a few sections are exposed so hats are helpful. Bring plenty of water.

Poles are not necessary but it’s great to practice with the gear you’ll actually use on Camino and poles are super helpful on Camino! This will be a six-miles walk along shaded Bosque trails, with restrooms at Tingley Beach half way through.
