Albuquerque NM: Albuquerque Chapter, Hike Otero, Blue Ribbon, Gnasty w/a G loop trail

DESCRIPTION: Starting from Otero Canyon, the trail takes you through a rugged and scenic canyon, with rocky outcroppings and lush vegetation. As you hike through this section, you’ll be surrounded by juniper, piñon pine, and various shrubs. It can be quite rocky throughout, and the beginning ascent is steep for some. Bring hiking poles if you have any doubt.
The trail is 5.5 miles with an elevation gain of 610 feet. The estimated time is approximately 3-3.5 hours, depending on hikers’ pace over all. We don’t leave anyone behind!
