Berlin, MD: DelMarVa Chapter, Assateague Island Hike

Join us on for a 6 mile hike in Assateague Island National Seashore – Maryland District. We will be hiking on the Life of the Forest, Life of the Dunes & Life of the Marsh trails in the national seashore section of Assateague Island in Berlin, Maryland. We will begin our walk at 10:00 am at the North Ocean parking lot. This is within the Federal portion of the Park. You will first pass the Assateague Island Visitor Center at 311800 Marsh View Lane; Berlin, MD. The visitor center opens at 9am if you want to stop there first. After leaving the visitor center, cross over the Verrazzano Bridge and follow the signs for the National Seashore. The North Ocean Parking lot is on the left after you pass the fee entrance booth. Please allow enough time to get to the meeting location by 9:45am. If it is a nice day, there could be lines to enter the park.

We will be walking on asphalt, raised boardwalks, crushed shell/stones and on sand. The estimated time of the hike is about 2 hrs 30 minutes. The hike is in a fee area. The daily fee is $25. The annual and lifetime federal parks passes are accepted.
