Delaplane VA: Capital Area Chapter, Sky Meadows State Park Hike

Join Chapter Coordinator Trisha Robertston for a hike at Sky Meadows State Park — a 1,860-acre park with scenic views, woodland trails and rolling pastures of a historic farm. This moderate difficulty hike will link several trails to create a 5-mile loop with 1,100 feet of elevation change. The hike should take 2.5 – 3 hours. Bring water, snacks, and sturdy trail runners or hiking shoes. Hiking poles are recommended as there will be some rocky parts and somewhat steep inclines/declines. Restrooms available at the Visitors Center. No pets please.
After the hike, consider joining us at the nearby Three Fox Vineyard (10100 Three Fox Lane, Deplane, VA 20144) for food, beverage and fellowship. They serve wine, beer, prepackaged à la carte snacks and have food trucks most Saturdays. Or bring your own picnic to enjoy.
