Wake, walk, eat and repeat! For those wanting a taste of what spending days on the Camino trail might feel like, join Bob Nistler, Andrea Sebenaler and Chuck Johnson as we carve our way through four of the Twin Cities’ most beautiful parks on four consecutive days. Each day’s walk will begin at 9AM and be 10 – 15k (7-9 miles) in length. Those training for an upcoming Camino in 2026 are encouraged to wear their backpack, weighted however you deem appropriate. Carry plenty of water and a snack. If you cannot participate every day of this four-day event, no worries; Join us those days that you are able.
Today we will explore and hike a combination of trails at the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge. The five span truss bridge was built in 1890 and was restored as a pedestrian walking bridge. The hike will be approximately 7 miles with minimum elevation on a variety of surfaces with some great views. It includes a hike along the Mississippi River on a dirt trail. Hike Location: Old Cedar Avenue Bridge Trailhead. 9500 Old Cedar Ave. So, Bloomington. From Hwy 77, exit at Old Shakopee Road and head west about 1/2 mile, then go south on Old Cedar Avenue to a large parking lot with modern restrooms.
