Are you aware that the network of pilgrim trails leading to Santiago de Compostela is not the only game in town. Via Sancti Martini, one of the many cultural itineraries that traverses Europe, is a network of traditional pilgrim routes that have led to the tomb of St Martin in Tours for over 1,700 years. The northernmost branch begins in Utrecht, Netherlands at the Cathedral of St Martin, passes through many other provincial cities of the Roman Empire in Belgium and France: Antwerp, Gent, Ypres, Lille, Amiens, Paris, and Chartres. Ann Sieben, who has already walked nearly 20,000 kms on many paths leading to Tours, invites pilgrims to accompany her on this 41-day, 850 km averaging 20 km (12 mi) per day on way-marked bike trails, hiking trails, and country roads. The pilgrimage will begin in Utrecht on August 15th and finish in Tours on September 25th. With so many cities, this is an itinerary with many possibilities to join or leave to fit personal schedules. Join our Zoom to learn more about this special experience…
